New Appspace Release: Changes to the Menu and an Enhanced User Module

Here at Appspace, we’re always working on ways to improve the hybrid workplace so that you and your teams get the most out of our platform. Starting with our public cloud customers on  December 3rd, we released some updates and improvements to the Appspace user experience that we think you will find make your Appspace usage easier and more efficient.

We’ve laid out a few of the highlights below!

User Module Updates

You’ll see that the user module has a fresh new look! Appspace users will now display as contact cards that you can choose to view in either a grid or list view. Users can now also upload a profile picture to their account so that when managing users, it is easier to connect with team members using the platform. None of these changes matter without a performance update though, and we’ve done that too. We boosted the performance of the module so that your user list loads even faster, regardless of how many accounts are in the system.

User Roles Name Changes

To go along with the visual facelift our users module received, we also made some improvements to a few of the names of our user roles. See what’s changing below.

Current Role Name New Role Name

Content Administrator

Publisher

Network Administrator

Location Admin

Content Producer

Author

While these names are changing, the permissions associated with them are not, so your current user setups will remain exactly the same with no changes in feature access or functionality.

Maps & Networks are now Locations

As we continue to innovate workplace services like room scheduling and space management, we’ve made a number of changes to the nomenclature in order to better serve your needs at scale.

In the left navigation bar, you’ll find a new menu option labeled, “Locations.” Don’t worry, selecting this option will provide you with the same functionality as the formerly named Maps module, but we have some big plans in the coming months that will enhance our space management offerings — helping you keep your employees safe and productive in our new normal. Stay tuned for those announcements, coming soon!
